PILATES was the order of the day at Kyabram District Health Service recently. It is one of the many physical pursuits being undertaken by the health service during April.
The organisation is involved in the Active April health and fitness challenge which encourages all Victorian’s to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity every day during April.
Employees have registered as participants and log their daily activity in their mobile or web app and chart the KDHS team progress throughout the month.
KDHS will be competing in the challenge against local health services Echuca Regional Health and Rochester and Elmore District Health.
Participation in the challenge is part of the work being done in the Healthier Campaspe Initiative for the focus areas of diabetes and obesity.
The health service is developing physical activity opportunities each day throughout the month for staff including walking groups, yoga, pilates, strength training and tai chi.
