MEMBER for Murray Plains Peter Walsh is encouraging not-for-profit organisations in the electorate to apply for funding from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).
Grants of up to $5000 are available to help communities of 10,000 or fewer under the Foundation’s Small Grants for Rural Communities (SGRC) program.
Mr Walsh said any project which contributes to the development of a community’s social and community welfare, economic, environmental, health, education or cultural areas can make a strong case for funding under any of four categories:
Strong leadership and community capacity; sustainable community infrastructure; equitable access to opportunities; vibrant local economies
“If you are unsure if your project is eligible you should contact FRRR on 1800 170 020 during office hours to discuss your ideas,” Mr Walsh said.
Round 32 opens on August 14, 2017 and groups have until September 27, 2017 to get their applications in. Forms and guidelines for the program can be accessed through FRRR’s website at www.frrr.org.au.
