A MAN has been charged over a crime spree across Tatura, Kyabram and Tongala last week.
The 24-year-old Echuca man was arrested in Anderson Rd, Echuca, about 3.30am Saturday after a vehicle allegedly involved in the crimes was recognised by police.
He has been charged with four counts of burglary, two counts of theft and criminal damage, as well as evading police and unlicensed driving.
The man has been bailed to appear in Echuca Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The charges relate to a burglary at Tatura’s golf club, Hill Top, where an attempt was made to break into the pokie machines without success early Thursday.
Soon after, thousands of dollars’ damage was then caused to a change machine at a Kyabram car wash in Allen St about 5am.
Half an hour later, Campaspe Shire’s council building in Tongala was hit and a $500 chainsaw stolen.
Senior Constable Detective Senior Constable Bernadette Waddington of Campaspe Criminal Investigation Unit said police were still looking for two other offenders.
She appealed to anyone with information to contact Echuca police on 5483 1558 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
