THE youngest in her show-jumping team, 15-year-old Tori Glass has raised the bar on her previous efforts at the Pony Club Australia national championships.
As part of the Pony Club Association of Victoria’s national team, Glass made the trip up to Toowoomba to show off her show-jumping skills to a national audience.
And it was quite the display, as she managed to clear the bar at 1.2 metres for the first time, bringing only two rails down for the whole event.
Individually securing sixth position in the first event, Glass stayed consistent as she snagged sixth again in the final competition.
Overall she finished ninth out of about 40 riders and the Victorian team finished second.
Hoping to represent Australia one day, the national finals have put her another step closer to making her dream a reality.
Mother Sharon Glass said Tori put on a great show competing at such a high level.
“It was such an amazing experience and she definitely learned a lot from competing,” she said.
“She showed she was capable of jumping higher and that’s a good effort being the youngest of her show-jumping team.
“We’re also thankful for the support we’re received from businesses and families in the area, they helped make the trip possible.”
