KYABRAM Community and Learning Centre’s lawn was flooded with messages of support during Campaspe Shire’s White Ribbon Day last Friday.
Throughout the day, visitors could write their messages of support on a white ribbon and place it on the lawns of KCLC.
Campaspe Family Violence Action Group co-founder Jennifer Savage said the support across the Shire of Campaspe was overwhelming.
“In Echuca there was a good turnout of support and in the afternoon in Kyabram we had a few people come and write messages or collect information,” she said.
As part of a 16-day calendar of events around the shire, Ms Savage said she hoped the day started a discussion in the district.
“While there’s a great need to improve services for women and children in the area we also need to be raising awareness to stop domestic violence occurring in the first place,” she said.
