Local shops have Christmas covered

December 06, 2017

Local businesses are gearing up for a Kyabram Christmas. Lachie Rodrick from Fitzgerald's Farm Fresh Meats, Kyabram Chamber of Commerce president Miles Gould, Sue Walley of Fab flowers and Oscar and Max Gould.

THIS Christmas is your chance to shop locally and win.

With nearly $5000 worth of prizes to be won, Kyabram is set to become a hive of activity in the coming weeks.

Simply by shopping at a local business you can go into the draw to win a $1000 Kyabram First voucher as well as going into a weekly draw of $300 and $200 vouchers.

Kyabram Chamber of Commerce president Miles Gould said as well as having the chance to win, Christmas shopping in Ky can help take some of the stress out of the silly season.

“Off the back of a very popular bush market, Christmas is upon us and retailers in town are here to help,” he said.

“Ky businesses have stocked up so it’s a great time to take advantage of the Christmas specials. If a store hasn’t got what you’re after, just ask, there’s a high chance they can get it in for you.”

“There’s a massive advantage to keeping it local as well, the retailers are close to home and there’s always parking.”

To make the Christmas rush easier, local retailers have extended their hours and are opening longer on weekends.

Miles said the extended hours will make it easier for shoppers to get everything in Kyabram.

“It really is a great time to take advantage of the sales in town and many stores are going out of their way to have those extended hours in the town,” he said.

“Many of the stores will be happy to hold items if you can’t make it in.”

The major prizes are drawn on GMCU Gala Night, December 21.
