Kyabram Lions Club president Sandi Donaldson with Raelene Maskell and Dot Gibson from KDHS.

THE Kyabram District Health Service is now home to a new set of surgical and examination instruments, thanks to a generous donation from the Kyabram Lions Club.

The instruments — purchased with $2000 donated from the club — will be used for ear, nose and throat (ENT) operating services.

Club president Sandi Donaldson said the club was honoured to help its community out.

“The Lions Club members are all from this community. We feel it’s extremely important to support and promote our hospital,’’ she said. ‘‘We are very proud of the hospital we have and are keen to provide financial help whenever possible in the future.”

KDHS chief executive Peter Abraham said the hospital was grateful for the club’s financial support. “This donation will provide some much needed support to KDHS in the purchase of this equipment,’’ he said. ‘‘The new instruments will enable our ENT specialist to perform more consultations and surgical procedures, thereby benefiting local families.”
