KYABRAM Swimming Club’s Tait Peterson qualified to swim three events at the Victorian Sprint Championships held on November 18 at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Tait achieved personal bests in all three of his events as well as ranking in the top 20 for country swimmers and has already qualified for next year’s event in butterfly.
“From a coach’s point of view this is an incredible achievement,’’ swimming club coach Emily Edgar said.
‘‘In the lead up to the Victorian Sprint Championships, Tait was limited to only one night a week training. Most swimmers who compete at a state level train a minimum of three nights a week.
“All of his coaches are extremely proud of his achievements and his dedication.”
Tait is focused on some upcoming events where he is aiming to qualify for the Victorian Country Long Course championships to be held in Shepparton next month.
On November 25, Shepparton Swimming Club held its Annual Aqua Carnivale.
Kyabram Swimming Club was represented by Tait Peterson and Hunter Glover.
This was Hunter’s first swim meet and she came away with some competitive times for her three events. Tait achieved three personal bests and two gold Zaidee medals.
