AUSTRALIA Day preparations are in full swing as towns across the region prepare for their celebrations.
■In Wyuna, the Memorial Hall committee have organised guest speaker Philippa Schapper, a resident of Kotupna who is the secretary of the Nathalia Historical Society, the chairperson at the G.R.A.I.N Store in Nathalia and U3A Film Night co-ordinator.
The flag raising ceremony is expected to take place at 6.30pm followed by a free community barbecue from 7pm.
The community is asked to bring drinks and a salad to share.
The celebration will be held at the Memorial Hall on Alfred Rd.

■In Kyvalley, the pool will be open to all — and you’re invited to come celebrate.
A free barbecue lunch will kick off at 12.30pm before the official ceremonies begin at 1.15pm.
Campaspe Shire councillor Neil Pankhurst and Peter Walsh, the member for Murray Plains, will be in attendance to hear this year’s guest speaker Neil Grummitt.
Guests are reminded to bring their own chair.
If there’s inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Kyvalley Hall at 534 Sinclair Rd.
The free lunch is presented by the Kyvalley Swimming Club and Shire of Campaspe.
