PREMIER Daniel Andrews has imposed new restrictions on Victorian hunters for the 2018 duck season.
But Peter Walsh, the Member for Murray Plains and Victorian Nationals leader, claimed the Victorian government has not taken any notice of advice from informed stakeholder groups which strongly argued against the restrictions.
Mr Walsh said Victorian hunters legally taking part in the 2018 duck hunting season are actually being penalised by the Labor government’s desperate attempt to keep the Greens on-side.
He said duck hunting is a legitimate recreational activity that brings thousands of hunters and their families into regional Victoria.
‘‘Daniel Andrews has shown time and time again he will always put green ideology ahead of our regional communities,’’ he said.
