COUNCIL would like to hear from the community about how waste vouchers provided with rate notices are used.
Campaspe Shire mayor Adrian Weston said a review of the waste vouchers is underway and the first step is to understand how the vouchers are used and what they’re used to dispose of. To capture comments, an online survey has been developed that will feed into the review.
“Waste vouchers are provided to landowners with the annual rate notice to cover the cost of disposing of one cubic metre of waste,” Cr Weston said.
Data shows about 60 per cent of ratepayers do not use the vouchers.
“For the 40 per cent who do use the vouchers, we are trying to understand how and why,” Cr Weston said.
The survey is now open and can be accessed via council’s website. The survey closes on Wednesday, February 28.
