Pony Club is hitting its stride

THE Kyabram Pony Club is back in full swing after the summer break in December and January.

The club has a number of events planned for later in the year including a show jumping and dressage day as well as its short course event at Moora.

The club recently had its first rally for the year with guest instructor Sally Fitzgerald and activities undertaken were polo cross, show jumping, games and flat work.

The 2017 club award winners were:

■Best presented: Carly Coburn

■Attendance: Emelia Chrys, Ashlyn Chrys, Carly Coburn, Holly Lloyd

■Most improved: Holly Lloyd

■Encouragement: Emelia Chrys

The club has already had success this early in the year with two of its youngest members, Ivy Aikman and Emily Walker, both winning events at the recent Barastoc Horse of The Year at Werribee.

It also had long time rider and instructor Nadine Edwards receive the Mooroopna Australia Day Sports Award for almost 40 years’ service and involvement with the club.

The club will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, March 14 at 7.30pm at the Kyabram Showgrounds clubrooms.

The next rally will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 10am at the Moora Reserve near Rushworth.
