New face but all your hire needs still covered

YOUR employees are the most important part of the business, and Andrew Porch couldn’t agree more.

Andrew has just taken over Kyabram Hire and Batteries from Leigh Johnston and Phil Lancaster — and he’s glad they’re staying on board.

After 19 years as an accountant at M and S Group here in Ky, Andrew decided to take on running a business.

And why the change you ask?

“I’ve been asked that quite a bit actually,” he said.

“It’s something that gives me the chance to run my own business — so when this came up we took the plunge.”

He’s currently getting his head around the business which has everything from party hire to pumps and trailers or bunting to batteries.

And Andrew said while he was still finding his feet, the rest of the staff know exactly what they’re doing.

“The existing staff staying on is such a key part to the business — they’re helping me out when it comes to things I don’t know,” he said.

“They’re familiar faces for customers and I hope we can continue offering the same service that people have come to expect.”

So for now it’s business as usual, according to Andrew.

“We have a few ideas we want to implement but we have to make sure we’ve got the core down-pat first,” he said.

Kyabram Hire and Batteries is open seven days a week from 8am-5.30pm weekdays, 9am-12.30pm Saturdays and 9.30am-10.30am Sunday at 29 McCormack Rd.
