GET your friends together for Kyabram’s first ever colour run.
Kyabram Community and Learning Centre will be hosting the event on March 25.
The Showgrounds will become a cacophony of colour as contestants complete the 5km run and get doused in colour.
“It’s the first of an annual event and we’re trying to involve as many community groups as we can so everyone will benefit,” KCLC chief executive Jen Savage said.
“The course will be 5km but people can choose how far they want to run, they’ll be running laps around the grounds and be getting covered in coloured powder.”
The day will have something for everyone, with a jumping castle and activities for the kids as well as a coffee van for any runners needing a caffeine kick.
And it’s all for a good cause, with the proceeds from the day going to community groups and to KCLC’s early learning studio.
“The proceeds will help us develop our early years’ studio as we focus on a different theme each year,” Jen said.
“So there’ll be themes such as sustainability, life and organisms which will form the focus for the year and it’s going to be open to the whole community.
“Once it’s up and running we’re hoping playgroups, schools and other groups will be able to use it — it’s providing something that children in the region wouldn’t usually have access to.”
