Mpwr Fitness owner Bryan Kennedy is looking forward to the grand opening.

PREPARATIONS are pumping along on schedule for the official opening of Mpwr Fitness on Unitt St.

Recently the flooring was being laid and soon the empty space will be full of equipment for locals to push themselves to the limit.

While the centre will be open from March 31, the official opening isn’t until April 8.

Owner Bryan Kennedy told the Ky Free Press that the first week would give everyone the chance to find their feet in the facility.

“It’s been a bit more of a soft start so that people can come in and see what they think,’’ Mr Kennedy said.

‘‘And it also gives us a week to work things out before we really push forward from there,” he said.

And he said that they had all been encouraged by the good response from locals.

“Also, we have had about 40 people sign up before opening,” he said.

“I think our promotion has helped that a little bit, the first 100 to sign up receive a free pack with a t-shirt, cooling towel, shaker and supplements — as well as no joining fee.”

Prior to this venture, Bryan ran a studio in Mooroopna but he decided to up and move to Ky after he found a place that was too good to pass up.

The studio on Unitt St will be set up as a 24-hour centre with cardio, weights and pin-loaded equipment.

“We’ll also have an area where we’ll be running classes and we’re hoping to work our way up to having about five or six programs with the cardio classes,” he said.
