THE KYABRAM Knights 15 and under boys soccer team went to Bendigo for the Boys and Girls FC pre-season seven-a-side tournament held by Football Federation Victoria with a mission.
They walked away champions — for the second consecutive year.
The team of 10 local boys from the Kyabram schools demolished their opposition on the way to the title, winning the semi-final 8-0 and the grand final 5-0.
The Knights played three games on Saturday, March 24, and the finals were held on Sunday, March 25.
Teams come from all over the state to compete in the seven-a-side tournament, which makes the Knights’ back to back wins even more incredible.
Team coach Angelo Pulsoni said his boys deserved all the success they get.
“It was such a great full-team effort,” Angelo said.
“I think one of our stand outs was our goalkeeper Liam Scopelliti, in five games he kept three clean sheets, which is a fantastic effort.
“I’m really proud of how the boys played and very happy for them.
“I know they were rapt too.”
Some of the boys in the team will now continue their soccer season while others will hang up their soccer boots once again for football season.
Ange thanked Giulia Pulsoni for her help as team manager, and assistant coaches Ang Ferlauto and Jon Muncey.
