A TONGALA man has been taken off the road for two years after his third drunk driving conviction.

Andrew Lewis Keech, 44, pleaded guilty in Echuca Magistrates Court on Tuesday to the charge after being caught on Katunga-Picola Rd on January 28.

Police tested him after seeing an open can of alcohol in his car, recording a reading of 0.123.

With drunk driving convictions in 1995 and 2004 and a drug driving (cannabis) conviction in 2016, magistrate John Murphy asked Keech when he was going to learn his lesson.

Mr Murphy convicted and fined him $1000 and cancelled his licence for two years.
