Pat O'Brien, Lawrence St Leger and Frank Reid.

SOME familiar faces graced the streets of Ky last month.

Three teachers who started their careers at Kyabram High School in 1967 came back to town to see what’s changed in the past 51 years.

Lawrence St Leger, Frank Reid and Pat O’Brien stayed in town for two days and reminisced about where they used to live and teach.

“This is an important area for the three of us, we did almost everything together and so I thought why not come back for a day or two,” Lawrence said.

“We were first year out and moved here because there was a shortage of teachers — that was back when Wal Kuhne was principal.

‘‘It was a good place to get a start because there were no discipline problems and every student was eager to learn, it was a good learning curve.’’

The men spent their time looking through what is now Kyabram P-12, Parkland Golf Club and squeezed in a visit to Mt Scobie.
