Beating the drum for good health

Jenny, Meg, Lorraine and Lisa take part in the KCLC drumming session - everyone is welcome.

KYABRAM Community Learning Centre is running a fortnightly drumming session for adults.

The drumming is led by KCLC staff member Jenny Kennedy who said she was surprised with how much it had taken off.

“We started it as more of a session for our clients but now we are opening it up to everyone,” Mrs Kennedy said.

The sessions are not all about drumming however, with a particular focus on health.

“It’s also about positive interaction with everyone in there, we can chat about anything.

“The drumming is about learning the basics of the instrument but also having some fun and conversing with other adults.”

Entry into the sessions is just a gold coin donation. The next drum will be held on Wednesday, May 16 from 1pm to 2pm.

If you are interested, you can call KCLC reception on 5852 0000 to register, or drop in to KCLC at 21-25 Lake Rd, Kyabram.
