URGENTLY needed repairs will be carried out on sections of the Murray Valley Highway and Echuca-Kyabram Rd after new funding was received in the state budget.
It allocated $941 million to fix Victoria’s regional road network, including $77 million maintenance uplift for Northern Victoria
As part of new funding, the government will establish Regional Roads Victoria (RRV), a division of VicRoads, based in Ballarat, with staff in regional centres across the state.
Local councils will also be able to apply to the new $100 million ‘fixing country roads’ fund.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said: ‘‘This investment will make sure we can continue to roll out the road works that our community needs.’’
