RUSHWORTH P-12 College secondary open boys bowling team had a terrific result at the State School Finals at the Darebin Bowls Club in Melbourne recently.
The team made up of three boys — Jorge Maxwell, Bradie Chillingsworth and Matt Lange-Richards — finished second in the state after just falling short in the final, beaten by Cobden Technical School.
“It was a really good effort by the boys who came up against a Cobden side who had a lot of experience,” teacher and bowls coach Brad Tinning said.
“It was a great effort for them to make it that far and the school is really proud of them.”
The boys did the day trip down to Melbourne, leaving early in the morning to play six games for the day.
