A divine place to go for wicked winter warmers

DEANNE Stagg started her Wickedly Deevine project in 2009 to give the community a place they could come and relax, have a coffee and unwind.

Fast-forward nine years and plenty has changed; the café no longer makes its own bread, and Deanne now offers breakfast, but what hasn’t changed is the relaxed local atmosphere.

“The time has gone pretty quickly — we seem to have always been pretty busy so I guess it has flown by,” Deanne said.

Deanne didn’t have to think for long when quizzed about her favourite part of the job.

“For me, and probably for a lot of local business owners, it’s the people you meet and the friends you make through owning a business in a smaller community,” she said.

Wickedly Deevine is open from 5am on weekdays — mainly for the early risers and tradies looking for a caffeine hit and a bite to eat before starting their daily routine.

As the mornings start to get colder and winter hits Kyabram, Wickedly Deevine has a few things on its menu to help warm locals up.

“The most popular thing on our menu would be our sausage rolls I would say, they clear out most days and people love them,” Deanne said.

“We also offer hot soup as we come into winter — and we have a $10 lunch offer that not everyone knows about.

“Each day on our social media (Facebook and Instagram) we put up posts about what we are making for lunch.

“People can ring up and tell us what time they want to come through and pick it up and we have it warm and ready to go.”

It’s the perfect option for people who are on the move all day and don’t have time to slow down.

Wickedly Deevine also offers catering for events and desserts made to order.

“We have been here for a while now and we really appreciate all the support everyone in the community has given us,” Deanne said.
