THE Kyabram Masonic Lodge held its installation ceremony on Saturday, May 5.
An installation ceremony is the celebration of a new master to lead the lodge.
Worshipful Brother (WBro) Dan Spencer was installed as the master and is looking forward to getting started in his new role.
‘‘In the year ahead the Kyabram Masonic Lodge aims to build on the great work masons have been doing over the years,’’ Dan said.
‘‘Freemasons Victoria is an organisation of good men, supporting each other, their families and the community — this is no different at Kyabram Masonic Lodge.’’
Dan hails from Gippsland where he was initiated into Freemasonry in 2002. He was master of the Gippsland Forest Lodge in 2009/10.
Dan has been an active community member all throughout his life joining the scouting movement as a young lad, he went on to join the Victorian Young Farmers and was State President in 1997/98.
Dan moved to Rochester from Hamilton in November 2013 and continued his freemasonry journey at Kyabram in 2014.
In recent months the Kyabram lodge has donated to the Kyabram Community bus, and worked hard at raising funds for other projects to raise the profile of freemasonry in the district while also practicing charity in and out of the lodge room.
‘‘The core values of freemasonry are to practise universal charity, provide opportunities for self development, build friendships, foster moral standards and seek excellence in all pursuits,’’ Dan said.
