KYABRAM parents are being encouraged to take on the challenge of reading more books with their young children as part of the Premiers’ Reading Challenge. Parents, grandparents, carers, childcare centres and kinders can help children who have not started school complete the challenge by reading 40 books with them before September.
“Sharing books with children can help them on their way to becoming lifelong readers and fostering a love of literature — this is a fun challenge for all northern Victoria kids and parents and I encourage everyone to get involved,” Member for northern Victoria Mark Gepp said.
Children can be registered for the Premiers’ Reading Challenge for the early years online or at their early childhood service.
