CAMPASPE Shire Council is inviting larger agricultural producers in Koyuga to discuss what gravel and earth roads they plan to use in advance of this season’s harvest.
Deputy Mayor Vicki Neele said the feedback from similar meetings last year helped to ensure the road network was ready for the important harvest season.
“We are asking our large scale broad-acre producers, carting 25 tonnes or more per load, what gravel or earth roads they are planning to use, how many truck movements and tonnes, and roughly at what time periods,” Cr Neele said. “This information will assist our staff in planning grading works for the coming months, to ensure specific roads are targeted and ready for heavy use.”
Council is inviting producers to a community session on Thursday, June 7 at Koyuga Recreation Reserve car park, 961 O’Dea Rd, from 2pm to 3pm. A feedback form is available on council’s website, under the “have your say” section, and can be emailed to [email protected]
