A KYABRAM man who damaged his neighbour’s car after she made a derogatory remark to him has been put on a good behaviour bond.
Billy Jack Rayner pleaded guilty in Echuca Magistrates Court to wilful damage.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Rennie said on July 22 last year, Rayner was in his front yard with a new puppy when a passing neighbour said: ‘‘I hope you’re not going to kill this one’’.
Snr Constable Rennie said Rayner started yelling and screaming before smashing the rear window of his neighbour’s car.
Keech told police ‘‘she said to me, ‘I hope you’re not going to kill this one’ and I got angry and picked up a bar and threw it at her car. I loved my last dog. I didn’t kill it.’’
Magistrate John Murphy placed Rayner on a six-month good behaviour bond on the condition he pay $487.60 compensation.
