The team notched its second draw of the Goulburn Valley League season on Saturday, this time against premiership contender Seymour.
The Bombers had a three-goal lead at the final break, before the home side was able to wrestle its way back to level pegging, 31-31, and snatch two points.
Kyabram had possession of the ball in the dying stages, but the final whistle ended any chance of pinching a memorable victory.
Seymour’s Sarah Szczykulski, Meg Grbac and Nakita Singe were outstanding and a major influence on their side earning a draw.
Elle Groves was superb in goals for Kyabram — scoring 28 of the 31 goals — and Ash Mangan led the way in defence.
‘‘It was a great four-quarter effort from the group, we showcased our ability that we can match it with the best in the league,’’ Kyabram coach Sara Kent said.
‘‘It was a strong and quick start by Seymour but the Ky defensive pressure was second to none in the first term, and Elle’s accuracy was fantastic.
‘‘Ash Mangan provided strong mid-court intercepts to bring our scores level in the second quarter.
‘‘Seymour also were sharp in the mid court, while Shani Clark provided strong defence in the ring.
‘‘It was a very intense last 60 seconds.
‘‘Although it was disappointing to not come away with the win, I’m really proud of the performance we put in against a top side.
‘‘The last term was goal-for-goal and our defensive pressure was second to none, it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.’’
