Tough finish for Blighty netballers

The score was not reflective of the match, as Blighty young guns Charlotte Strong, Bridie Blake and Erica Nicholls all showed their skill and determination.

Supported by Natalie Tremble and Felicity Jefferies in defence, the ball was turned over on numerous occasions to goal circle.

Unfortunately, Katunga were too strong which made goals hard to come by.

B-grade: Blighty 10 def by Katunga 74.

Despite the score, our girls played hard to defend the ball against a strong Katunga side.

The conditions made it hard to keep focus, but we continued to press and created some great game play.

C-grade: Blighty 5 def by Katunga 74.

Our C-grade ladies decided to finish the season off with a good laugh.

We threw the bibs in the air and mixed things up.

All the girls deserve awards for showing up and playing each and every week.

Under-17s: Blighty 14 def by Katunga 61.

The girls came up against a very polished Katunga side, who adjusted to the wet, slippery conditions easier then we did.

Although we had some great passages of play, Katunga forced us into some easy errors.

We tried a few different combinations during the game, which has given us insight on what to work on going into the finals next week.

Saturday proved to be a hard final game for the girls.

The weather was wet, resulting in struggles to maintain the ball.

Blighty worked hard, never giving up and created some great game play.

Under-13s: Blighty 6 def by Katunga 31.

It was a tough game in the weather, and Katunga came out strong.

Our girls kept their heads up throughout the game and finished the season off trying their best, taking on direction and having fun.

Awards: Indie Moses, Cassady Sibraa and Ellie Gavel.

Under-11s: Not scored.

The girls played an awesome last game, trying really hard in the wet and cold weather.

Each player worked hard, getting many intercepts and making space across the court, and using skills we worked on at training.

Eliza Culton and Kadynce Sibraa played a great last game, getting some awesome intercepts.

Amelia Armytage and Peggy McKenzie did really well at leading hard to the ball.

All the girls had lots of fun this year and we are looking forward to seeing them next year.
