Mark Milthorpe won the B grade championship when he defeated Steve Johnson 25 to 20 in an interesting game on Sunday.

Milthorpe has only had one season of competitive bowls at the club, so this was a good climax for his bowling season.

The Veteran Singles is now down to the final, with 2018/19 Club Champion Bob Poore taking on Ray Wood.

Earlier in the titles, Poore defeated Ron Pentland and received a forfeit to then contest the final.

Wood defeated Geoff Trevorrow in the other elimination round.

Social bowls will resume next Sunday morning.

There is still room for more bingo players. This action commences at 12.45pm every Tuesday.

To date about $4000 has been raised for the CanAssist organisation, which assists locals suffering from cancer, from the bingo days.

The annual meeting of the Northern Triples was conducted last Tuesday. Berrigan will be the host club for 2019/20.

Graeme Clements was elected president and Gary Seamer as the secretary.

The same six clubs form the Northern Triples group — Jerilderie, Berrigan, Tocumwal, Finley and the Deniliquin and Deniliquin RSL Bowling Clubs.

The Northern Triples will kick-off on September 17, which will be played on a Tuesday every fortnight from the starting date.

The Triples events are open to any bowler without an age restriction.

All bowlers are reminded of the ‘Poore Bob’ open pairs on Monday, starting at 1pm, and are urged to submit entries to Don McKellar on 58834507, or by calling the club on 58831324.

This event has been sponsored by the Poore family and excellent prize money has been allocated.

Condolence is expressed to Bronwyn, Nerida and Louise on the passing of their father, Finley Dawe.

Finley was a staunch supporter of the club having served a term as president and a player. We will all miss him at the club.
