KYABRAM’S newest exhibition, Remember When, has to be seen to be believed.
It has come together after months of planning, organising and creating, and the finished product is spectacular.
Marg Smerdon, of the organising committee, said the inspiration came from a department store.
“We have ladies’ fashion, a cafeteria, men’s fashion and a barber in here,” she said.
“It is something we had been thinking about as it is similar to what Isobel Harvie had done before.
“Once we had the idea it all came together in about two weeks.”
There is a countless number of mannequins in the fake department store, with one even inside the changing room.
“All the clothing has been donated by people from around the region,” Marg said.
“We are very lucky to receive the support that we do.”
Marg said she and Marg Woods have always helped Isobel Harvie with previous exhibitions.
Isobel has recently suffered some ill health and asked the present sub-committee to continue her work setting up and running the exhibitions. The committee consists of Marg, Denise Gemmill, Marg Woods, Maxine Schumann and Andrea Woods.
In honour of the incredible work Isobel has done for the Town Hall, the front room will now be known as The Isobel Harvie Gallery.
The exhibition will run through to March 2019, with entry costing $8 for adults and concession $6.
