Two offenders wearing masks and gloves used an axe to smash the front doors of the supermarket at about 5am.
The thieves forced entry into the cigarette cabinet and stole a large quantity of cigarettes and alcohol.
The offenders were last seen in a small silver sedan that police believe was stolen from a Tongala address.
Police said it was the second time in a month the business had been targeted.
■POLICE are investigating the theft of firearms, chainsaws and fishing equipment from a Kyabram property.
Between January 5 and 6, offenders forced entry into a large shed at a MacGregor Rd property.
Several firearms and other equipment including chainsaws and fishing equipment were taken.

■A VICTORIA Police joint program will help African-Australians become police and protective services officers across the state.
The Victoria Police Diversity Recruitment Program is a 15-week course, which Victoria University Polytechnic is offering to help eligible applicants build their skills before applying to join Victoria Police.
Victoria Police community engagement inspector Stephen Mutton said it was important police members and PSOs were drawn from broad and diverse communities in order to effectively meet community needs.
‘‘We’re proud of our vibrant, diverse, multi-faith and multicultural community, and this program ensures our next generation of police officers will continue to reflect the community we serve,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re excited to partner with Jesuit Social Services, who will help identify these applicants as well as provide them with support so they can succeed in their application.’’
The course offers support specifically designed to mirror Victoria Police’s rigorous recruitment process, including numeracy, literacy skills-building and swimming lessons.
The program was developed by Victoria Police, Jesuit Social Services, Jobs Victoria, the African-Australian Multicultural Employment and Youth Service, Victoria University Polytechnic, AMES Australia, Matchworks and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers.
