SANTA had his GPS firmly set for Parkland Golf Club last week, dropping by to celebrate the Henley Friends Christmas in July fundraiser.
More than 90 people enjoyed Christmas pudding, roast turkey and a raffle.
Henley Friends volunteer Win Crilly said the event was “absolutely jolly”.
“Parkland were absolutely wonderful. They went out of their way to help us,” she said. “Everyone had such a good time. It was so loud in there, we couldn’t even hear each other speak!”
And while the final figures are yet to be tallied, it looks like the event was financially a successful one as well.
The money will contribute to a growing fund that will build a community house for over 55s in Kyabram.
The group already have their own block of land and are in the throes of raising the remaining $3 million needed to start and finish construction.
They spoke with MP Damian Drum last week about the potential for federal funding.
