Some 2000 people came through the gates and met some new furry friends in the sunshine.
‘‘We were blown away by the attendance,’’ park manager Lachlan Gordon said.
‘‘Particularly being in the middle of winter, we weren’t sure how it would go.’’
He said the high numbers showed a clear desire for family centric events in Kyabram and district.
‘‘We’ve also been acquiring some new species and had great social media and media coverage, which has certainly helped,’’ he said.
‘‘There is a lot of attention on the park and where we are headed, which is really exciting.
‘‘We heard of a lot of people heading into Ky for a coffee, or having a bit of a shop. That’s really rewarding feedback and we’re really pleased it brought in a bit of business for the shops in town.’’
The Fauna Park plan to run four events a year, during each school holidays break. Follow the Kyabram Fauna Park Facebook page to keep up to date with upcoming events.
