KDFNL sign new naming rights partner

A major announcement yesterday capped what has been a busy off-season for Kyabram District Football Netball League.

The league has come to an agreement with The Apprenticeship Factory on a new three-year naming rights deal, which will run from 2019 to 2021, in what is a serious coup for the league.

It has been an eventful past few months for the league, with the introduction of Shepparton East into the competition and the newly-formed C-grade and under-13 netball grades.

Newly-elected league president Fraser Kerrins was ecstatic with the new deal and said it was a win for not only the two parties, but for the wider community as well.

‘‘It’s fantastic for us to have The Apprenticeship Factory on board as a new naming rights partner for the next three years,’’ Kerrins said.

‘‘They’re a terrific organisation that provide integral job pathway opportunities for the region’s youth and we can’t wait to begin the partnership.

‘‘We look forward to working with The Apprenticeship Factory and having a successful 2019 season.’’

Kerrins said a new logo was in the works that would provide a fresh look for the league and embrace the transition that the league has gone through in recent years.

‘‘It’s time we move forward and rebrand our league and embrace where we sit now after recent changes,’’ Kerrins said.

‘‘With the introduction of Longwood, Shepp East and Dookie over recent years, we’re looking to recognise those changes in our new logo.’’

The Apprenticeship Factory operates as a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to place apprentices and trainees with a range of small and large host businesses and providing on-the-job training.

The Apprenticeship Factory chief executive Paula Ryan was equally excited about the new partnership and believes it was a great decision to align with a football and netball league.

‘‘Football and netball clubs play such a vital role in our local community and The Apprenticeship Factory is certainly looking forward to this new partnership,’’ Ryan said.

‘‘Many of our apprenticeships and host employers are loyal members and volunteers within the KDFNL and other local leagues and it’s fantastic to be able to support the ongoing great work.’’

The will unveil the new logo and a new name for the weekly Footballer publication in the coming weeks, before the opening round on April 6.
