Former state player Jayde Herrick and one of local cricket’s greats, Fire Brigade’s Paul Newman, will bolster the Kyabram side for the clash.
Newman, who has yet to have a bat this season, will be using the game to try to get his eye in in the run-up to Goulburn Murray Cricket’s finals.
Both Herrick and Newman played some games for Kyabram in this competition last season.
The clash is being staged from 7pm at the Kyabram recreation reserve.
It was to be played tonight (Wednesday) but has been moved to Friday and will be incorporated with the club’s sponsors’ night.
Kyabram has been put in the Western section of the four group competition along with Tatura and Mooroopna.
In round two on January 23 Kyabram has the bye and in round three it will travel to Mooroopna for the last of the group games.
Kyabram claimed the title last year, beating Katandra in the final.
Kyabram will be without its skipper, Kyle Mueller, for the clash but he will return from a trip to America in time for the Mooroopna game.
In this competition clubs can recruit two imports to bolster their ranks.
