Outplayed by Merrigum the previous week, the Roos upset first round winners Violet Town in a form reversal at Girgarre.
With small man Ryan Butler running riot in attack with seven goals, Girgarre romped to a 92-point win.
Girgarre also had dominant players in Ash Kirchhofer, Matt Giorgianni and Hayden Phillips while Ben Turpin and Antonio Barca also lifted to bring off the win.
The Towners got it easy in the opening round against Ardmona, but looked all at sea against a more accomplished side on Saturday.
Matt Davies, Tim Ross and Jayden Guppy tried hard for the visitors but Girgarre had all the answers.
■ MERRIGUM made it two from two with a hard earned win over Murchison-Toolamba in a keenly contested clash at Murchison.
After a slow start, Merrigum worked its way back into the tightly contested clash and got home by eight points.
Josh Smith with five goals and Jake Parkinson with four were able to keep the Bulldogs in the game along with the efforts of Brett Maher while Jack Sinclair and Tom Cooper were also fine contributors in the win.
Murchison-Toolamba lost no admirers in its narrow loss with Tom Kerrins turning in another top game and well supported by Dylan Moncur, Luke Cecchin, Luke Jones and former coach James Milne.
■ LANCASTER kicked the sweep against Ardmona on the back of a 13 goals haul from former Kyabram reserves player Billy Ryan.
Ryan bagged 13 goals and Jack Donnell five as the Wombats overran the Cats by a whopping 214 points.
The Wombats set the mood early bagging 10 goals in the first quarter.
Apart from the Ryan goal show, Lancaster had good players in the Cerrone brothers Tanner and Zac while Jaffer Roci, Nic Ryan and James Ross won kicks at will for the Wombats.
Fred McLean, David Gilby and Tyler Lackmann tried hard to rally the Cats.
■ RUSHWORTH didn’t get its own way against Longwood but did emerge with the all important premiership points after a titanic low scoring struggle that wouldn’t have made the football purists delirious.
But in the tight contest Rowan Smith’s three goals were vital as
were the efforts of Joe Thompson, Tommy Coyle, Tim Varigos, Jason Snedding and Harry Barlow.
■ UNDERA, surprise first round winners over Stanhope, was again impressive in disposing of first round winners Shepparton East by 111 points.
Undera hit the starter button early and with McNamara Medallist Kane Herbert again showing the way along with Nic McAuliffe, Shannon Hockey, Danni Heazlewood, Rhys McKenzie and Shaun Wilson the home side dictated for most of the game.
East had triers in Andrew Lloyd, Jayden Damianopolous, Darby Innes-Irons and Josh Dohnt but never looked like seriously challenging the home side.
■ IN THE clash between last year’s grand finalist the result was the same — Tallygaroopna was too good for Nagambie, who were making their first appearance for the season following their first round bye.
Classy Tyson Sidebottom continued his blistering start to the season with another best afield performance for Tally who were also well served by Eamon Reeves, Tim Karolidis, Adam Serafini and Zac Brett.
Nagambie, who still did enough to suggest they will be there again in September, had good players in familiar club stalwart names in Mick Shiels, Nathan Fothergill and Zac Winter-Irving.
■ IN THE remaining game, Avenel had to work hard to get on top of Dookie United, thrashed by Tally in the opening round.
The Swans got home by 23 points with Connor McLoy, Nic Goodwin and coach Kasey Duncan stepping up while United were best served by Kyle Tapscott, Sam Bowmaker and Will Bagley.
■ THERE are no games this weekend in the KDL due to a general bye for Easter.
