The Blues were dominant in their 48-28 win, never seeming challenged by the struggling Kats.
Tongala flew out of the blocks, dominating from the first whistle.
The result is especially important for the Blues coming off the back of a particularly poor performance a week ago against Congupna.
A win against Congupna would have seen the team sitting at an unlikely 4-2.
But their current form line of 3-3 is by no means a disappointment.
With the massive changes to the side for 2019, there was a belief Tongala may fall away and find themselves outside the finals for the first time in some years.
What the side has shown so far does not line up with this.
They have been strong, with competition frontrunners Moama and United the only sides to genuinely outclass them to this point.
Even in those matches where they have been outclassed, there were a lot of positives to focus on.
Caddison Mulholland, who could not be contacted before publication, has done a fantastic job in bringing this new-look Tongala group together.
It’s still early days, but the side could be looking at a finals berth come the end of the season.
