KYABRAM Football Club could have up to seven players donning a GVL representative jumper for its Worksafe AFL Victoria Community Championship clash against Western Region Football League this Saturday.

The clash is at Werribee’s Avalon Oval.

Kyabram’s Tom Holman, Lachie Smith, Mick Mattingly, Kyle Mueller and Kayne Pettifer are still in the GVL squad from which the team will be finalised after a final training session tonight at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve.

Two other Bombers, Zac Norris and Brad Whitford, who have been training with the squad, could also be considered for selection in the team.

■Kyabram has two players in the Under 18.5s initial squad of 29 players to take on the Western Region Football League.

Young Bombers Aiden Robinson and Tom Burnett have made the squad, which has an age cap of under 18-and-a-half to fall in line with the Western Region.

Like the senior squad, all GVL clubs are represented in the initial squad.

This game starts at 10.15am on Saturday at Werribee’s Avalon Oval.

■Dylan Nexhip has been appointed head coach of the GVL’s open netball team.

The current Shepparton Swans A grade coach and former assistant coach for the league, Nexhip takes over from Tracey Brereton.

Nexhip is thrilled with his appointment and is looking forward to selecting his team for the Netball Victoria State Association Championships to be held in Frankston on Sunday, June 23.

There is no inter-league netball against the Western Region this year.
