ClubMulwala Snooker Club is well under way and like football, several players are showing early season form that stands them in good stead for 2022.
Tony Cincotta and Heie Hansen are standout players so far and they fittingly fought out the final of the Club Challenge Number 1 on Monday, March 7.
Tony emerged victorious in the 4th final from his last 6 starts to take an early lead in the Player of the Year title, with Heie also racking up valuable points.
Monday, March 14 saw a round of the annual Diggers Tribute event where Russell Styles produced great form to take out Dave Mark on the final table.
Congratulations to both contestants on their fine play, which is especially just reward for Dave who travels from Oaklands every week to get his snooker fix.
Social nights on March 9 and 6 were taken out by Dave Arzuhaldzic over Keving Young (nice to see you back playing Kev) and Ashley Nicholls over Steve O’Sullivan respectively.
Steve Sullivan has made a very welcome return to snooker after a lengthy break and is clearly enjoying his time on the tables. The club all look forward to experiencing the sport with you Steve.
The qualifying rounds of one of the most prestigious events, the Bruce Bond Trophy, will be conducted over Monday 21 and Tuesday, March 22 with the final scheduled for Monday 28th.
Bruce Bond was a long time player, committee member and office holder in the club and ClubMulwala Snooker are all keen to add their name to the trophy named in his honour.
As people can see on the ClubMulwala website and in its members newsletter, the club welcome new members or anyone who may like to give snooker a try.
ClubMulwala sponsors the club very generously so the value for money ratio for players is very high indeed.
There are a variety of events held every Monday and Wednesday evening and there are plenty of opportunities for new players to join or come along to try the facilities out.
The club have 2 excellently maintained full size tables available for competition, practice and visitor use, and a regularly updated handicapping system to ensure players from beginners to advanced level can compete equally.
There are also plenty of experienced and skilled players who can help with advice and tips on how to improve your game or perhaps adapt it for those who have played pub or social pool in the past.
Please contact the club on either 0497 062443 or 0418 361779 or visit on a Monday or Wednesday evening by 7PM if you would like to give snooker a try.
