The freehold of the primary cinema, which is used by performing arts companies and schools in the region, is up for grabs with council advertising for EOI submissions before September 3.
In the supporting documents, council said "it is in the best interests of all stakeholders involved in performing arts to divest from its interests in the Echuca Paramount Complex".
"Council is seeking expressions of interests from parties to purchase the nominated property and are looking for that purchaser to add value to the current entertainment services provided at the site and by doing so ensure Echuca maintains a vibrant performing arts and entertainment hub".
Campaspe Shire entered into a collaborative arrangement with Paramount operators Southern Star Enterprises, owning cinema one and sharing common property including the green room and foyer with Southern Star.
But now, council's little patch of theatre heaven has been earmarked to go, with Lot 2, including the land of cinema one, and part of the building, open to offers for future owners to add value to the Echuca performing arts scene.
Southern Star Enterprises was contacted for comment but was unable to be reached.
