Burglars target Kyabram and Rushworth

"They forced open the front door but they got away empty-handed," he said.

"They did a couple of thousand dollars in damage though."

The men left in a silver SUV and drove to Rushworth IGA in Main St, which they broke into about 5.20am.

"A quantity of cigarettes and cash was stolen," Det Snr Constable Poulton said.

"Entry was forced through the front door and the total in damages is estimated to be about $30,000."

Det Snr Constable Poulton said police were reviewing CCTV footage and appealed to the public for information.

"We're looking for two male offenders who were wearing hoodies so their faces were covered and gloves," he said.
