There, taking centre stage on the billboard, was a huge photo of her son Sam (pictured right) and a workmate advertising the law firm they work for on the Sunshine Coast.
‘‘I nearly ran off the road when I first saw it and realised it was the boy from Kyabram — and my son,’’ Judy said.
Rainfall above average
Kyabram’s rainfall for April was well above average, with 79mm recorded.
It has taken the yearly total to 182mm.
No rain has been recorded so far this month but rain has been tipped for the next few days.
Minimum temperatures have dipped, with last Friday’s 2.4°C the lowest reading this year up to Monday.
The maximum temperature has risen above 20°C only once this month, and that was May 2 when it got to 20.1°C.

In the story it revealed how Broadford and Yea Football Club had had to merge to get teams on the ground.
But the writer of the article claimed Broadford and Yea were Melbourne suburban clubs.

Small towns do us proud

In the recent Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children’s Hospital, Dookie and nearby Devenish combined to raise a staggering $100,000.
For a combined total of just over 500 people in both towns it was a mighty effort and according to campaign president Paul Durden it came about only because of the generosity of the local people and businesses.
Rochy on Postcards
Rochester got some great publicity when the popular Nine TV network travel show Postcards went to air on May 1.
Town landmarks and tourist attractions were featured in the segment, which no doubt impressed a lot of viewers and potential tourists to visit the town, which has always punched well above its weight.

The Free Press’s Anzac Day edition featured a front page article on Tongala centurion Bob Dawson.
Jordan Reid, the great-great-grandson of Bob, was in a group photo after he marched in honour of both his great-grandfathers’ service.
He also wore medals from Les Reid, who served with the Transport Division in Darwin, and Ian Norman, Radar Technician, Catalina Unit, Gove, NT.
Peter Dawson, who provided us with the information, apologised to the families for his oversight.
Council: It wasn’t us
Berrigan Shire Council was on the front foot recently after some 300 corellas were found dead along the Murray River between Tocumwal and Cobram.
Council quickly denied rumours that council-sanctioned culling was to blame.
Now an investigation by the NSW Environmental Protection Authority is under way to determine the cause.
