It will be held July 1 to 3 at the Karingal Bowls Club.
Chris is the first person in our club to have ever reached such a high level of competition.
The entire Club wishes you every success – and we will all be cheering you on!
A few of our top bowlers recently played in the Australian Open Bowls Championships on the Gold Coast.
Chris Philpot was joined by Bob amd Helen Bowman, Chris O’Connell and immediate past captain David Hansen and his wife Leigh.
The men bowlers got through to the knock-outs in their team event, and Leigh – our current club champion - got even further.
Unfortunately she lost her last game by only 2 shots – an unbelievable success as she was playing Australia’s finest bowlers. Well done, Leigh!
TGBC is planning its first two day ladies team event for September 14 and 15 - the ‘Queen of the Greens’.
The club is hoping to offer a substantial cash prize and clubs from all over Victoria and southern NSW will be invited to attend.
It is hoped it will become an annual event.
Long time bowler Betty Harrup was highly commended at our recent AGM, for consistently still bowling – at the ripe young age of 94. Well done Bett!
During the winter season, TGBC has introduced ‘Free Fun Monday Bowls’, commencing at 11am.
Bowlers of all levels – experienced, newcomers, learners, non-members – are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
