At age 62, Ruth began a new career after winning a publishing contract with UK publisher Clarendon House in 2020; her 2021 book The Whitworth Mysteries is the result.
The book is a collection of crime stories located in the fictitious town of Whitworth, a Murray River border town and is reminiscent of Mildura and Wentworth.
Ruth spent the first years of her life on Wilkurra Station near Pooncarie, with the landscape leaving a lasting impression on her writing and characters, shining through in her work as a crucial character.
Her “crime fiction with a twist” book features themes of retribution, revenge, love and redemption along the Murray River and the surrounding landscape.
She is taking her book tour specifically through regional Victoria and New South Wales and will be visiting libraries across the Goulburn Valley Libraries network.
Her book will also be available for purchase at each event.
Ruth will be at the following libraries on the following days and times;
