Well, you will have your chance to find out if you sign up for the event’s annual Steer Ride Pub/Club Challenge.
Amateur riders, representing one of the venues sponsoring the event, will emerge from the chutes atop a feisty steer.
The aim is to ride out the obligatory eight seconds, like any bull rider.
But the judges look favourably on any ability - or entertaining antics - you may showcase.
The winning venue get a trophy, the rider gets bragging rights and may even get some Deni Rodeo merchandise thrown their way.
Registrations for the event are taken on the morning of the rodeo - held Easter Saturday, April 16 - by calling Alan Calderwood on 0488 044 669.
The Pub/Club Challenge is only one part of an exciting twilight rodeo schedule on Easter Saturday.
Part of the Australian Pro Rodeo Association circuit, with points up for grabs for the weekend’s top performers, some of the best cowboys and cowgirls will be in attendance.
Each will exhibit fast paced, rough stock rides which are sure to include thrills and spills.
In addition to the crowd favourite bull ride, there will be saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, rope and tie and barrel racing events.
A feature is the $3000 Open Bull Ride, which is expected to attract Australia’s top riders.
Sponsored by Scott Oddy Fabrications, this event is often referred to as the world’s most dangerous sport.
The ever popular Race Entertainment trick riders will be back to entertain between rodeo events.
They run around the arena full noise, and then do jumps and twists, and even hang upside down. It’s always exciting to watch the superb horsemanship.
The gates to the Racecourse Rd rodeo arena in Deniliquin will open at 3pm, with the rodeo action from 4pm and continuing right through until late.
There will be live music, trade sites, food stalls and a licensed bar.
Entry is $35 for adults, $15 for pensioners, $10 for children aged five to 17, and children under five get in free with an accompanying adult. Family tickets (two adults and two kids under 18) are $65.
Purchase your tickets at the gate, or get a discount by buying early via Eventbrite.
