‘‘Olivia said when we were preparing to hit-off on the first hole I wouldn’t have to play my shot because she was going to get a hole-in-one,’’ her mother, Naomi, who was playing with her daughter in the four-ball event, recalled.
“It was 8.30am and really foggy and you couldn’t even see the green.’’
But true to her word, when the playing group arrived at the green and Olivia’s ball was nowhere in sight, a tentative look in the hole revealed her ball.
Yes, a hole-in-one.
But it’s not the first time the emerging 16-year-old sporting star has scored a hole-in-one at Parkland.
‘‘She got one on the ninth hole about four years ago,’’ Naomi said.
The lowest handicap female at the Parkland club, who plays off an 11 handicap, Olivia is living up to the family name in the sport.
Her mother has won seven Parkland ladies titles, her father, David, has won 14 club titles and her grandfather Peter Fraser 13 championships.
Olivia’s sporting prowess is not limited to golf.
She is one of the most promising female lawn bowlers in the state and reigning junior Goulburn Valley and Central Goulburn Murray ladies singles junior champion — wins that have qualified her for an upcoming shot at the state title.
