Tuesday, June 21:
Ladies indoor bowls had a good field of 15 women enjoying their social games of bowls.
The winning team for the day were Wilma Williams, Barb Dashwood, Jan McEwan and Heather Freeman.
Ladies indoors is back on every Tuesday. For a game next week contact Joyce Brereton on 54821242 (all welcome, from champions to novices).
Wednesday, June 23:
Men’s three-bowl pairs — with great weather came the bowlers, a field of 28 players.
Winners were Barry Brown and Bill McEwan with 81 points, second place was Jasen McCloy and Leon Sharp with 79 points plus 29 shots, followed closely behind for third place by Hugh Davies and John Stuart with 79 points plus 28 shots.
With the jackpot at $90, Brown and McEwan had their chance to roll their self into the history book as the first pair to win the new jackpot format (four bowls within the yard arm). Brown failed on the first bowl (from chocolates to boiled lollies).
On Wednesday, June 29 men’s three-bowl pairs will be single entry and alternating between single entry and nominated teams (single entries excepted).
Other news:
Last week Rich River lost one of it icons, Vic Woods, who will be sadly missed — rest in peace, Vic.
Remember you can book via the bowls office phone on 5481 3390, leaving a message for your entry. Good bowling for the rest of the week.
