With only a few rounds left before finals, all the local teams were trying their best to win and elevate their standings.
GM2 Kyabram 10-76 defeated Tatura Quakes 1-41
Kyabram had a dominant victory over a bottom placed Tatura side to boost their percentage in the push to secure a top four spot.
The star performer of the day was Regan More, who again showed why he is the premier player in the division.
More started the day with a tough 8-7 victory, partnering Mitchell Cox against the father and son combination of Corey and Alan Morse.
More then followed this up with a dominant 6-1 victory in the number one singles before carrying this momentum into the mixed, partnering Abby Prycroft to an 8-1 victory in the number one doubles.
Prycroft also went through the day undefeated with a pair of 8–5 victories in the ladies’ doubles, partnering Rhiann Eddy and Sheree Starling.
Young Gun Kade Starling continues to show he is someone to watch out for in the coming years with a clean sweep of his sets.
Starling started the day with a strong 6-2 victory in his singles match up. This was then followed up with a pair of 8-3 victories with Cox and mother Sheree Starling.
The 35-game victory puts Kyabram into third spot on the ladder with four matches left, however, the team will need to continue racking up victories with four other sides within striking distance of the Bombers.
GM3 Tatura Tornados 8-78 defeated Kyabram Redbacks 5-59
In what could be a grand final preview with the two top teams on the ladder going head-to-head, the Redbacks fell short against a strong Tatura outfit.
The best on the court of the day was Sonya Mccraw who went through undefeated. Mccraw started her day with an 8-4 victory with Marg Haw in the opening round of matches.
This was then followed up with an 8-3 victory with team captain Susie Bennett before partnering Darren Woodcock in the mixed for a dominant 8-4 victory against a strong pair to show why she has been a key contributor to the side for this season.
Bennett also had another win with Natasha Dodos, who was making her return to tennis after a season and a half off.
Dodos managed to win two of her three sets as she also partnered her brother Xavier to an 8-3 mixed doubles victory.
Despite the loss, there are many positives for the Redbacks to take out of the match with the hope to improve before the finals.
GM3 Nathalia 11–91 defeated Kyabram Bombers 2-43
It was a tough day out for the Bombers who journeyed to Nathalia with a weakened side in the hopes of pushing forward to finals.
Unfortunately, experienced Nathalia managed to get the chocolates on the day, both victories were from young gun Jaxon Eddy.
Playing as the number one man, 12-year-old Eddy managed to win his number one singles match 6-3.
Eddy then partnered club stalwart Greg Tarrant to a dominant 8-2 victory in the number one doubles.
Unfortunately, for the rest of the day, it was tough going for the Bombers.
However, it will be a valuable experience for many young juniors for Kyabram who will look to build on this.
The Bombers will likely need to win out to make the finals.
GM4 Open Kyabram 8-65 defeated Tatura Lightning 1-39
The Kyabram 4 Open side again showed that they will most likely be there in the last half of the season with a dominant victory over fellow finals hopeful Tatura.
Only dropping one set for the day, it is difficult to say who was best-on-ground, but Bek Lawson again showed her class, securing an 8-0 victory with Rachael Costello.
Lawson then partnered team captain Scott Hausler to another dominant 8-2 victory.
In her final match for the day, Lawson partnered Evan Cooknell to an 8-6 victory.
Hausler, Costello and Cooknell all went through the day undefeated.
This win secures Kyabram in the top two before the final four rounds.
