Spring rain has contributed towards further improvements in irrigation supply for northern Victoria.
The Resource Manager for northern Victoria has announced an update of seasonal determinations.
Allocations for the Goulburn and Loddon systems increased from 62 per cent of high-reliability water shares to 66 per cent.
The Broken system increased from 37 per cent to 39 per cent. The Murray and Campaspe systems remain at 100 per cent.
The Bullarook system is unchanged at 0 per cent.
Resource Manager Mark Bailey said rainfall had provided the resource improvements needed for allocation.
“The scattered rainfall across the catchments since the last update has kept water flowing into the storages,” Dr Bailey said.
“This has provided the seasonal determination improvements announced today.
“There is almost enough resource in the Bullarook system to begin allocating water for the first time this season. Flows into the storages and lower operating requirements have continued to close the gap to a seasonal determination.
“The improved resource positions in the Murray and Campaspe will help availability in the 2026/27 water year in those systems.”
