The Kyabram Town Hall and Kyabram Men’s Shed received $500 from the festival committee and small donations were also made to the Kyabram Girl Guides and Kyabram Cubs and Scouts.
The Guides put information bags together for the festival and the Cubs and Scouts delivered flyers around town to promote the event.
RV committee president Allan Weeks said the groups received the funding because of their importance to the Kyabram and district community.
“These groups make our town the great place that it is,” he said.
‘‘The town hall is always bringing people from outside the region with their exhibitions and events. All those people spend money in town and see what Kyabram and district has to offer.
“And the Men’s Shed is a great outlet for local blokes. It gets them out of their armchairs and stops them annoying their wives by sitting at home.
“The shed also does a lot of work to benefit other organisations and our community wouldn’t be the same without them.”
Kyabram Town Hall secretary Anne Churches said the money would go towards renovations and preparations for the upcoming CWA convention.
“The hall is a little below standard in some areas so this money is greatly appreciated. The hall simply wouldn’t survive without generosity like this,” she said.
Men’s Shed president Col Brisbane said the funding would go towards equipment for the shed.
“We’re self-funded so donations like this are very important,” he said. “Our members are very thankful for the support to continue everything happening at the shed.”
